Who We Are

Angie Sander
Employed with HUMmingbird Day Care Ministry since the fall of 2006, Angie serves as the Child Care Director. She graduated from Indiana State University with a BA in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood concentration and received her teaching license from the state of Indiana.  Angie also received her Masters in Early Childhood Education from Indiana University. She has received training in a variety of Early Childhood Concepts including multi-day trainings in areas such as High Scope Curriculum, Reggio Approach, Creative Curriculum, & training with Thelma Harms on her Early Childhood Rating tool, the ITERS & ECERS. Her experience includes working in a variety of Early Childhood Programs, including For-Profit facilities as a Lead Teacher and Assistant Director, Head Start Programs as a Lead Teacher and later Child Development Specialist, 4C of Southern Indiana as an Early Childhood Mentor, and Ivy Tech as an Early Childhood Adjunct Faculty.  In her current position as the director of HUMmingbird, she is passionate about moving the program forward in respect to all areas of quality improvement.  She is driven by her strong desire to ensure that the families within the community have the option of a high quality, faith based program that puts their children first. 


Rebecca Forbes
Employed with HUMmingbird Day Care Ministry since September 2003, Rebecca serves as the Infant/Toddler Department Head and Site Manager, as well as the Infant Room Lead Teacher.  She currently has her CDA, has taken classes towards her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and has ten years experience in the field of early childhood education.  Rebecca has been trained on a variety of topics relating to infants and toddlers including Safe Sleep, Biting, and Development to name a few.  She has a passion for helping young children feel secure, feel appreciated, and to help them feel like someone is truly interested in them.  Rebecca believes that the positive influences we have with children will affect their personality and the way they view the world

Jenny Polley
Employed with HUMmingbird Day Care Ministry since September 2006, Jenny serves as the Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher as well as the Health and Safety Manager.  She recently completed the coursework for her CDA in Infant and Toddler Care and has over five years experience in the field of early childhood.  Jenny has been trained on a variety of topics relating to Health and Safety including Food Bourne Pathogeans training, CPR & First Aid, and has completed her training as an CNA. She has also participated in a variety of early childhood training on infant and toddler social emotional health, SIDS and Safe Sleep practices.  She has a passion for providing the children in our program with Continuity of Care and providing Relationship Based Care.
